Salary range: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum

Location: Any FNC office

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

As a Security Solutions Engineer you will join our advanced team at the intersection of UK Defence, national security, and next-generation data sharing platforms. You’ll play a vital role in shaping and securing systems that underpin some of the most critical information infrastructures in the UK. We’re looking for a skilled and knowledgeable individual who wants to progress their career in a technical consultancy, with a focus on the future of cyber security needs across our client base. 

What do we look for in a Security Solutions Engineer?  

 

We are looking for a candidate that can develop and assist clients to implement security solutions and innovative ideas for complex projects, ensuring they meet our customer’s requirements and technical standards.  

The role of Security Solutions Engineer covers a range of specialisms and therefore we will consider applicants who have some of the following exposure:  

  • Working alongside stakeholders to understand and document their requirements and translating them into technical designs and innovations at project and enterprise scale – including creation of business, application, data and technology architecture viewpoints to support creation of enterprise solutions e.g. using TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Systems thinking.

  • Design end-to-end workflows that incorporate multi-source data flows and human interactions.

  • Evaluating target architecture, platforms, tools, processes and applying relevant data standards, policy and dataflow management processes.  

  • Analysing technical and business risks associated with solutions and developing mitigation strategies.  

  • Plays a part in cross-functional teams in implementing scalable, secure, and interoperable systems, ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards.  

  • Presenting solutions to customers, stakeholders, and senior management.  

  

Requirements:  

As a Security Solutions Engineer you will add value to the business through helping develop our capabilities, securing new business opportunities or adding to our trusting and flexible culture. You will be undertaking the following:  

  • Embedding security at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) across cloud-native and on-prem environments, often in complex networks.

  • Gathering technical and business requirements assuring the client needs are at the forefront of your work.

  • Working on designs, policies and frameworks which enable our clients to enable their business in a secure manner.

  • Collaborating with software engineers, infrastructure teams, and security specialists to build scalable, resilient systems.

  • Contributing to threat modelling, vulnerability management, and strategic risk mitigation.  

  • Supporting mission-critical platforms that enable secure, federated data sharing across partners and stakeholders. 

  

We require:  

  • This role will be client facing and candidates are expected to work effectively in a consultancy environment. 

  • Experience and understanding of complex networks with a security-first mindset.

  • Understanding of ISO27001 and other frameworks including NIST and CIS Benchmarks

  • Understanding of cloud technologies, e.g., Azure, AWS

  • Understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery principles.

  • Understanding of Secure by Design Principles.

  • Good written communication.

  • Desire to work towards CISSP / CISM etc, which will be supported as part of development.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
