DSFederal Inc, is seeking a Program Manager who will lead a complex cybersecurity program supporting the Office of Information Security (OIS) within a federal agency. This role is responsible for interfacing with government leadership, managing a team of cybersecurity professionals, and ensuring operational success across strategic communications, governance, engagement, and tactical implementation. The Program Manager must demonstrate leadership in cybersecurity operations, strong organizational skills, and experience managing multidisciplinary teams in support of a federal cybersecurity mission. This is a contingent Position.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the government, coordinating directly with the CISO, DCISO, Division Directors, Branch Chiefs, and Program Leads.
- Oversee multiple task leads responsible for strategic communications, cybersecurity governance, and engagement support.
- Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive engagement tracking system to support strategic and tactical plan initiatives.
- Research and track internal and external cybersecurity events, conferences, and engagement opportunities; maintain a current inventory of engagements.
- Prepare communications content including briefing materials, speaker notes, blog posts, social media content, summaries, presentations, and speeches.
- Manage logistics for conference and event participation, including scheduling and after-action reporting.
- Lead planning and facilitation of strategic off-sites, meetings, and team reviews such as OCISO All Hands and leadership meetings.
- Support executive reporting through standardized templates, ensuring alignment with HHS policies and schedules.
- Coordinate strategic and technical recommendations on cybersecurity initiatives, legislation impacts, and governance.
- Monitor and analyze federal cybersecurity legislation and budget resolutions and advise on their implications.
- Provide monthly activity and engagement reports to leadership and maintain centralized documentation on SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
- Support program-level coordination of the Cyber Award program including nominations, events, and post-award activities.
- Ensure excellent customer service, timely responses to inquiries, and compliance with government guidance.
Requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years supporting cybersecurity senior leadership in program or project management roles.
- Experience supporting leadership with internal and public-facing engagements, conferences, and executive presentations.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity policy and reporting frameworks such as FISMA, NIST, OMB guidance, and government performance reporting.
- Experience working with federal IT or cybersecurity stakeholders is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing high-visibility presentations and reports.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Cybersecurity, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Certifications
- Preferred but not required:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Government Communicator or equivalent (e.g., IABC, NAGC)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile
